Experience Gold Medal Care With Chiropractic

Like many of you, I was glued to the TV watching the 2018 Winter Olympics. Viewing many of the snowboard, ski racing, slopestyle and big air events, I could not help but notice the pounding these athletes’ bodies took during high-speed crashes and dizzying falls.

I think the most impressive showing was Canadian Mark Mc Morris who, in March 2017, crashed into a tree while filming an aerial snowboard trick in the B.C. backcountry. He described his catastrophic injury “like being in a high-speed, head-on car crash.” It almost cost him his life with a fractured jaw, fractured left arm, ruptured spleen, pelvic and rib fractures and a collapsed left lung.

A Team Approach to Recovery

To help in his rehab program to get ready for the Pyeongchang Olympics he needed the help of a talented team. Fortius Sport & Health clinic in Burnaby B.C. helped him physically and mentally through stretching, chiropractic visits, physiotherapy, Pilates and specialized exercises.
Chiropractic care is used by many Olympic and elite athletes and teams to help prevent injury as well as come back from injury as in Mark’s case.

A Natural Means of Promoting Peak Performance

One of the best attributes about chiropractic is the fact that it’s a drug-free way to obtain optimal performance. Functioning at a high level is so critical in sports involving endurance, speed, balance, agility and power.

Mark went on to win bronze in the slopestyle snowboard competition which is remarkable considering he was in a hospital bed 11 months prior. Check out the documentary “Unbroken” that tracks his recovery.

You don’t have to be an Olympian to benefit from chiropractic.
