The Importance of Proper Sleep Positions

Since we spend about a third of our lives sleeping, doesn’t it make sense to sleep with a correct head position for optimal support? When it comes to pillows, we recommend ones with a foam core. These have Dacron in the middle which makes the pillow somewhat soft and comfortable. It’s essential to choose a pillow that doesn’t have too much give as insufficient support can harm your back and neck.

As far as sleep positions, we recommend sleeping on your side. If your nose lines up with the middle of your chest, you’ll know that your pillow has adequate support in it. Sleeping on your back is another option. Be sure that your head is in a slightly tipped forward position. Avoid stacking pillows as they tend to shift during sleep and can leave you in an unsupported position.
